The Danubian Restoration Movement (DRM) is a democratic monarchist movement, which advocates for restoration of monarchy in Austria, Hungary, Czechia, Slovakia, Croatia and Slovenia, which would be led by the House of Habsburg-Lothringen.
Members of the DRM hail from various parts of the former empire; Austrians, Hungarians, Czechs, Slovaks, Slovenes, Croats and even some foreign supporters are present in the movement. The movement takes it's mission in uniting the six countries under the legitimate heir, Archduke Karl von Habsburg-Lothringen, seriously.
DRM aims to retain democracy and wants the monarch to be a constitutionally fixed counterweight to corrupt politicians and party politics.
The Danubian Restoration Movement (also known as Danube Restoration Movement) was started in December of 2023 under the name Danube Unity Movement by a Hungarian student, Ákos Kovács, and two Austrian monarchists, Paul from Lower Austria and Nicolas from Tyrol. The aim of the movement is to restore monarchy in the six successor states of the former Habsburg Monarchy. DRM also aims to reach out to other monarchist organizations operating in the successor states.
The organisation currently promotes the monarchy primarily through social media and poster displays, but in-person meetings will also be planned as the community grows.
